Job Overview

We are seeking an Automotive Service Technician (Tire & Lube) to join our team. In this role, you will perform essential maintenance tasks that help ensure the safety and performance of our customers' vehicles. You will be responsible for routine fluid changes, basic vehicle maintenance, inspections, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals with a passion for vehicle care and customer satisfaction.

Detailed Job Duties & Responsibilities 

Oil and Fluid Changes: Perform routine fluid changes, including oil, brake fluid, and transmission fluid.
Basic Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct checks and replace components like air filters, tire pressure, and wiper blades.
Inspection: Inspect vehicle systems and identify potential issues related to fluid levels and vehicle condition.
Customer Service: Interact with customers, explain services performed, and provide recommendations for further maintenance or repairs.
Safety Standards: Follow proper safety procedures when handling hazardous materials and maintaining work area cleanliness.
Documentation: Accurately record services performed and track vehicle service history.
Fill in as required across different areas of the auto shop to ensure continuous workflow and seamless business operations.
Maintain a professional appearance and keep the work area organized and clean.
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in Auto Care services.
Perform other related duties
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, and consistently embrace and exemplify the company’s core values in all aspects of work.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Automotive technical training or vocational certification is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous customer service experience in an automotive environment is preferred.
Experience with electric vehicles (EV) and a strong understanding of EV maintenance and repair procedures.
Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, tires, and fluid systems.
Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment for oil changes, tire servicing, and basic vehicle inspections.
Strong understanding of safety procedures, particularly when handling hazardous materials.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and providing service explanations.
Understanding of NYC-specific regulations and compliance requirements related to automotive services, and safety regulations.
Typically will be working within the auto center and service area,
Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the business's operational needs.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical conditions, as required in an automotive environment.
